Events in Milan. February 2024

Ambrosian Carnival, art exhibitions, theater premieres and more this month.

Dear friends, January is coming to an end, which means it’s time for our monthly event-digest.

February 1-4 – A seasonal sale by cult publisher Taschen at Milan boutique, where you will be able to buy their stunning books at up to 75% off.

February 1 – Simon Boccanegra opera by Giuseppe Verdi in a contemporary performance at Teatro alla Scala.

February 4 – Domenica al Museo, on the first Sunday of the month you can visit the city’s municipal museums for free

February 7 – Smith/León and Lightfoot/Valastro contemporary ballet at Teatro alla Scala.

February 10 – Mudec presents the exhibition “Short & Sweet” by famous contemporary photographer Martin Parr.

February 10 and 11 – “Swan Lake” by the Ukrainian Ballet Academy at Teatro degli Arcimboldi.

February 8 – Alcina / Les Musiciens du Louvre / Minkowski concert at Teatro alla Scala.

February 10 – Chinese New Year. The highlight of the celebration is the traditional Dragon Parade in Piazza Sempione at 14:00 with music, dancing and acrobats

February 14-17 – Ambrosian Carnival. The culmination of the festivities will traditionally take place on Saturday (Sabato Grasso), with the main action taking place in and around Piazza del Duomo. We expect entertainments for children, costumed parades, concerts, street performances and lots of fun!

February 19, 22, 23 – concert of the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Lorenzo Viotti at Teatro alla Scala.

February 20-26 – Women’s Milano Fashion Week, show calendar is available online.

From February 22 – the exhibition “Picasso. La metamorfosi della figura” at the Mudec Museum with paintings, drawings and sculptures from the main European museums dedicated to the artist.

From February 23 – the exhibition “Brassaï. L’occhio di Parigi” at the Palazzo Reale, which will present prints of retro Paris through the eyes of the legendary photographer.

From February 24 – the exhibition “De Nittis. Pittore della vita moderna” at Palazzo Reale. 90 paintings by the artist, including oils and pastels, from major public and private collections, both Italian and foreign.

From February 25 – Mozart’s opera “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” at Teatro alla Scala.

February 28 – ballet “Madina” at Teatro alla Scala.

Until February 18 – photo exhibition dedicated to Maria Callas at Gallerie d’Italia.

Exhibition “Rodin and Dance” at MUDEC.

Exhibitions of Goya, Morandi, Jimmy Nelson at Palazzo Reale.

Immersive experience Space Dreamers, dedicated to space. 16 installations – stars, clouds, satellites and galaxies – allow you to imagine yourself as a traveler through the galaxy. A great option for leisure time with children!
