Dear friends, let me tell you about a rare case when I went to inspect a new place and I really liked it!
The seafood restaurant Al Baretto San Marco is located in the deservedly popular Brera Moscova district. Although the place is new, interior is designed in 60s dolce vita style, when Italians lived in pleasure and chased after delights. At the same time there is a pleasant touch of modernity – a bar counter is near the open kitchen with a Josper oven, dishes from which are Al Baretto’s specialty.
The restaurant will definitely appeal to those who love da Giacomo’s interior. It’s perfect if you are looking not just for a place to eat, but also for ambiance. The crowd here is interesting and international, the cuisine shouldn’t be compared to a typical trattoria, but there are nice neat portions and pretty serving on Villeroy plates.
Keep in mind: the menu is not too large, traditional dishes (artichokes with grana, for example) are losing to their analogs from old authentic restaurants. But catalana is served here with peeled lobster (it’s my crush!), and tuna tartare with truffle puree as a side dish is definitely a win-win. By the way, the mashed potatoes came to the local menu as a hit from another fantastic place – Osteria Serafina, that has the same owner. And for dessert be sure to order a gelato in fruits, that’s my strong recommendation!
The average bill is 90 euros per person. Be sure to look out for Al Baretto particularly for a special occasion or a date, the atmosphere there is very nice. And if you want to feel the vibe of the place, choose a table inside.
